This is a story about four people,
Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody.
There was an important job to do.
Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that, because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought Anybody could do it, but
Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when
Nobody did what Anybody could have done!
Erm... here's my answers....

because of those who look on and DO NOTHING. - Albert Einstein
Reason 2: The LYNAS is located 2km from residential area of 30,000 people and some 25km from Kuantan potentially putting 700,000 people directly at risk from many toxic leaks and emissions. The refinery will also discharge waste water at 500 tonnes an hour into the Balok River, a river of significant mangrove species that is within a few kilometres from the river mouth which joins the South China Sea. If these 2 reasons are not good enough for me to support the campaign, I am not fit to be called a human being.
| LYNAS in Kuantan is not the first rare earth refinery in Malaysia. The one in Bukit Merah New Village, Perak is. It was a collaboration between Mitsubishi Chemical Industries Ltd (35%), Beh Minerals (35%), Lembaga Urusan dan Tabung Haji (20%) and several Bumiputera businessmen (10%). The company was incorporated in 1979. It was called Asian Rare Earth Sdn Bhd and in 1982, it began its operations. This are the results of the plant in Bukit Merah New Village. |
“She has spent the last 29 years washing, dressing, feeding and otherwise taking care of her son from that pregnancy... she and other local residents blame the refinery for the problems, although birth defects can have many causes,”

| The day came, it was 25th November 2012. I decided to join in the walk from Maju Junction, the last stop before reaching Dataran Merdeka. It was not easy for me because I was very tired from the food distribution to the homeless with Reach Out Malaysia for 2 days in the row. I had hurt my knee and I was finding difficulty to walk a long distance. I also had the difficulty to wake up on that day. I felt my head was spinning BUT I know I cannot give in. I had to go for the sake of the future generations. I was grateful because I had 2 brothers (some said they are my sons, hehehe.. alas they are not) had supported me in whatever I do followed me. |
I dare to say I voiced out my full support for Say No To Lynas, Save Malaysia and I will continue to do so.
