“If I hold up a glass of water for ten minutes, it will feel heavy. If I hold that glass for 30 minutes, my arm will hurt. If I hold it for two hours, I am a very dumb monk,” chuckles Ajahn Brahmavamso, Buddhist monk and Abbot of the Bodhinyana Monastery in Western Australia. “But” he continues, “If I set the glass down for a few minutes to rest my arm, it will feel much lighter when I lift it again.” _________________________________________________________________________________________________ I guess most of the time I am a dumb person for holding a glass of water for 2 hours. Then I would be complaining non stop about my hand in pain. Everyone of us can never escape from responsibilities, worries and concerns unless you are enlightened. Once we took on the responsibilities, we can never took them off. We would then start to worry about our responsibilities or even concerns about the outcomes. Finally, when we can't take them anymore, we would start to complain, comparing and shoving the responsibilities to the other persons. Then the scenario of her fault, his fault would arise. This is similar to holding the same glass for two hours. Maria mentioned to me that she was upset that her best friends didn't take her advises.
I asked her why would she be upset? She said that person is her best friend. I asked again, why would she be upset? She said it's for her own good. I asked again, why would she be upset? She said she cares about her. I asked again, why would she be upset? She can't answer anymore. Time: Nearly 4 am Venue: In front of Shell Station, Taman Eng Ann Life is so fragile, one minute you were riding the motor and the next minute you are lying on the ground..dead. Lessons Learned: 1. Don't have regrets in life 2. Live in the present, not the past and not the future 3. Treasure what you have 4. Live the way you want the people to remember you by I recently had the opportunity of giving a friend a gift that would hopefully bring some much needed ease, grace, and comfort into their lives. To give you a little background, my friend has been struggling financially for a few years, and for the past 6 months has only been making it through by couch surfing from friend’s place to friend’s place.
Fast-forward to a few weeks ago, one of my regular clients who we’ve been working on attracting more financial abundance into their life, came into a massive flow of prosperity. Completely unexpected on my part, this client wanted to gift me with a 1 year fully paid lease to my current home or future living space of my choice as a result of the work we were able to co-create together for them to attract more abundance. A builder built a wall with 1000 bricks.
When the wall is finished, he found out that 2 bricks were not laid neatly. He was not happy with it. Everyday, he was sad, ashamed and angry about this 2 out of place bricks. One day, a passer-by stood there to admire the wall and said,"well built wall." He was taken aback and asked,"didn't you see the 2 out of place bricks?" The passer-by answered, "Didn't you see the other 998 well laid bricks?" - Ajahn Brahm Logeshry Loose: ♥... Why I did a Big mistake in ma life????...♥
This is from my student. Fren.. the biggest mistake in life is not to make the mistake. Making mistakes show that you are living and learning. ... This is my answer to her. _____________________________________________________________________________ People always make mistakes and since I am also a human, I can't escape from not making a mistake. "To err is human, to forgive is divine" Mistakes are my great teachers. Without them I wouldn't be sitting here and writing all these down. I made many mistakes which some I truly regretted. I regretted not going overseas to study, I regretted this, I regretted that. Some are silly. Some are serious. Some are minor. Some are major. Still, without these mistakes, I won't be here. So, go on.. make more mistakes... What do you see? A half full glass..... or A half empty glass Different people, different opinion. This is where WISDOM plays a role. Wisdom doesn't grow on tree. It comes from experiences, It comes from meditation. I admit I am not a person full of wisdom. I made a lot of mistakes and will continue to make mistakes until I have enough wisdom not to make them. What I jot down here is only my own personal opinion... |
